I love a good smoothie, and now that we’ve had a few warmer days here and there, my Vitamix has been put to use a little more. I love this smoothie that I’m naming the Sunrise Smoothie because it’s very refreshing and citrusy.
This smoothie is a perfect morning snack or would be a great accompaniment to a light breakfast. I don’t typically make smoothies to drink as meal replacements but if you add a little more yogurt it could replace a light breakfast. Since I usually eat about every 2 hours, this is a great in-between meal snack for me.
Start by adding the liquid, then all the soft food, then add all the frozen on top.
For this smoothie I used grapefruit juice, an overly ripe banana, plain Greek yogurt, a whole peeled orange and a blend of frozen fruit, strawberries/mango/peaches/pineapple. If you follow me on Instagram (@kaylanskitchen) you’ll see my video I made of making this smoothie.
Blend until totally smooth and no chunks are left.
This is a perfect pick me up smoothie, and has a great tart flavor. If it’s too tart, just add a little sugar to sweeten it up. Since there is an orange in the smoothie, make sure it gets extra blended and be aware that there will be pulp in the drink, which I love!
Enjoy! (My recipe card maker isn’t working, so here’s the recipe)
