Today has already been a busy and crazy day… and it’s only 10AM! Crazy as in, it’s 10am and I still haven’t brushed my teeth or taken a shower. Did I just share too much? Well, it’s true. I’ve been on the phone with my mom, with my insurance company, with a doctors office, with school districts, etc. So I guess you can say it’s been a good crazy.
Moving to a new place means finding a new doctor, a new job, a new church and a new everything else, so today I was able to find a new doctor and got an appointment scheduled.
WOO. Exciting stuff I know.
As far as jobs go, I haven’t been offered a job yet, but I’m working hard to find one. I’m registered to take the CBEST test which is the test for California that would certify me to be a substitute teacher in school districts in my area. I’ve learned from several other women who are apart of the wives at LLU, that substitute teachers are in dire need in this area. This morning I’ve spent some time registering and contacting different school districts to figure out the next steps after I take the test. I’m really hoping something comes from this!
In other news, Jesse and I found a church that we really, REALLY like. And I’ve just got to say that it’s a total “California” church, the name alone screams California: Sandals Church. We’ve gone three times now, so we’re not set on this church for the next four years necessarily, but so far we feel like we’re going to keep going back. The pastor is so GOOD. He’s so knowledgeable and he’s really, really funny. Like he seriously has some of the best punch lines/jokes and Jesse and I just laugh so hard. I love laughing in church.
The pastor started a new series yesterday called “The Anchor Theory” and I can already tell it’s going to be a life-changing series. One of his points he made was: if we aren’t working towards God than we are drifting away from him. So if we aren’t spending our time, our days, our lives striving to be more Christ-like, then we’re drifting away from Him. I LOVE THAT. I love it because there’s so much truth in that sentence.
Okay, just had to share that thought!
Besides some of the crazy bipolar weather we’ve been experiencing lately, California has been pretty good. I’ve been working on my blog a lot these days; working on new recipes, cooking a lot of yummy food, baking a lot of yummy desserts and just having fun. More recipes coming this week! :)
