My sister, mom and I cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
Happy December! Things have been a little crazy around here since I started working a month ago and Jesse’s schedule keeps getting busier with school, and then with the holidays I don’t see things slowing down anytime soon.
As busy as life seems right now, I’m so excited that it is finally December and that Christmas is less than 25 days away!! I wish that I was in Idaho right now with all the beautiful snow, but I’ll settle with palm trees and sunshine (although right now it feels like we’re in Seattle with all the rain).
Last week we flew to Seattle to spend Thanksgiving with my family – which was so great to get home for a few days! Bonus: we woke up to snow on our last morning there.
Me and my family.
When we got back to Loma Linda we pulled out all of our Christmas decorations from our (creepy) cellar and started setting them up. It’s hard figuring out how to set everything up since I’m in a new place and last year I had a fireplace mantel to work with. I love pulling out all of my boxes of decorations because it’s like Christmas morning, it’s always a surprise to see what I have because I can never remember. One of my favorite parts of decorating for Christmas is setting up my Nativity scene; my Papa made me and my siblings barns to use with our sets and I love pulling it out every year. We haven’t gotten a tree yet this year, but we may go in search of a fake tree so that we can use for the next several years while living here – so nothing too large!
I also officially completed ALL of my Christmas shopping yesterday!! I’m that person who gets all their Christmas shopping done back in September so it’s really weird that I didn’t finish until November 30th.
I mentioned a job above so let me explain a little further. I started working a temp job with the City of Redlands 4 weeks ago and it was only supposed to be a 4 day long job and it turned into a 4-1/2 week job – which is great! In the meantime I was still interviewing on campus at Loma Linda University and was finally offered a position last week. I will be working at the School of Dentistry in the clinic area. I won’t start for another week or so, but once I get into the job a little more I’ll give more of an explanation and update.
I will try to be more consistent in my posting but I can’t guarantee anything until the starting of the new year! But then I promise my blogs will get better and get on more of a consistent schedule – I’ve got lots of exciting plans! :)
Me and my handsome hubby – along with our fluffy cat who is now living with my parents *insert boo-hooing here*
Enjoy your month of Christmas everything!
