We flew back into Loma Linda yesterday evening after being gone 15 days for the Holidays. It was a much needed vacation away from school, work and the California life, including the weather. We welcomed the cool winter weather of Seattle with open arms! The rain was just what this Seattle-girl needed to keep her going.
We even got our snow fix by spending a day up in the mountains; Jesse snowboarded with my family while I hunkered down in the lodge for the day.
The day we flew into Seattle we got to spend some time with my whole extended family – I don’t get to see them too often so 24 full hours was definitely a treat! We were also able to see a large amount of Jesse’s extended family while we spent the week of New Years in Sacramento.
One of my big gifts was this glorious Le Creuset oval dutch oven in caribbean – my perfect kitchen color and my favorite kitchen utensil. I was not expecting this gift and was thrilled when I opened it! Thanks Mom!!
After we spent the first week in Seattle, we flew down to Sacramento to spend the next week, including New Years, with Jesse’s family. While in Sacramento, we went to a Sacramento King’s basketball game and we all got King’s shirts for Christmas to wear.
I’m so thankful for our families and the time we got to spend with them. When we don’t live close by we soak up every minute we can. BUT, I am also thankful to be home in my own place and in my own bed. :)
I’m excited for the New Year and the fresh start it gives us and the opportunities it provides to get centered and refocused. I still love writing posts and taking pictures of food for this blog and I have lots of exciting plans for this year. I hope you continue to journey along with me this 2016 year! :)
