Today marks 30 weeks along in my pregnancy – I’m two weeks into the third trimester and only 9 weeks away from delivery! This pregnancy has flown by, which is actually sorta nice considering all the symptoms I’ve been experiencing. But I am trying to soak it all in because I know it’ll be over before I know it. 30 weeks feels like such a milestone because I’m past the first two trimesters and into the final stretch, but I’m also aware the third trimester brings its own challenges. At this point, the baby is growing significantly each week, which means mama is growing significantly each week. And let me tell you, it sure feels like I’m getting bigger by the day!
Last week, when there were 10 weeks left, I had a moment of panic and set out to create a “to-do” list of sorts. More of a countdown with a list of things to accomplish by each week-end. I think it may have been the beginning of my nesting stage…and I’m really hoping this nesting stage sticks around for awhile! My list filled up pretty quick at the 5-1 weeks left columns, but is still pretty open right now. Although by the time week 5 comes, I’d like to have the complete nursery set up and ready to go!
We bought a used crib awhile ago and it was dinged up enough that I decided I wanted to paint it. So painting this crib has been on my list to accomplish by the end of week 9, I’ve been procrastinating and finally started working on it over a week ago. It’s a LOT harder than I thought it would be and is taking about 3 times as long to paint as I thought, but it’s getting done and that’s what counts.
Once I get the crib done I feel like the rest of the room will slowly start coming together. I’ve had one baby shower and we received so many wonderful gifts, but until I get this crib done I can’t do too much with the gifts. Although, I did go through all the clothes I got for the baby and man oh man he is going to have more than enough to wear, and look pretty darn cute too!
Once the nursery gets completed I will definitely be posting pictures because even though it’ll be simple, I think it’s going to look pretty good.
Oh, and if you haven’t heard, we announced the name for the baby: Grayson David. We love little Grayson so much already, we can’t wait to meet him!
